The Marching Saints had their inaugural year in the fall of 2007. We marched 40 strong including wind players, a drum line, two drum majors, 2 banner carriers and color guard. We have grown in number of students, but still continue to grow have a great time! We’ve marched for Homeschool Football teams and Christian School teams. We also march in parades and festivals and competitions. We are a band that is “Marching with a Mission”, because part of our identity is to do service projects. Past projects include Special Olympics, Turnaround Kids and MUST Ministry. We not only want to have fun, march proudly and play well; we want to honor God in all of our endeavors.
Come on and join us if you are willing to work hard, come to practices, come to performances, and have a fun time!
Eligibility and Requirements
Students who are 12 years and older and have 2 years of playing experience or more are eligible to participate in the Joyful Noise Marching Saints. All Marching Band students are required to enroll in a Joyful Noise class as well, during the school year. Color Guard and Majorette students must be 14 before band camp in order to participate.
We can use wind players, percussionist, string players, chorus members, and keyboard players. Most wind players will play their instrument in the wind section. We may use the other member’s musical skills in the drum line, drum pit or color guard.
Every rehearsal scheduled is vital to the outcome of our performances. If you are a part of the Marching Saints, you are required to attend the camps, rehearsals and scheduled performances. Excused absences include illness or death in the family. If you have excessive absences, you will be dismissed from the Marching Saints.
Registration Forms will be available each Spring for next year’s marching season. We also have Spring Rookie Camp every year too for new students. Meanwhile, come and see us march at the Johnson Ferry Saints football games at Sprayberry High School this fall.
